3500 more people will lose their jobs at RBS.

In an announcement to staff in its business centres across Britain, RBS said it was cutting another 3500 jobs, taking the total number of UK-based staff made redundant to 20600.
So far 9000 positions at RBS business centres have disappeared, with back office staff in call centres and IT departments making up the larger part of the redundancies as the bank looks for an annual saving of £2.5bn.
Among the new cuts, around 1500 are related to RBS’s sale of 318 bank branches to Spain’s Santander.
Total losses = 3500
