<p>Strikes at the best of time are annoying to the general public, but unofficial strikes&#8230; they are just lazy people taking the piss in my opinon, and for one oil company it was the last straw. French giant <strong>Total</strong> wrote to all <span style="color: #ff0000;">900</span> workers at its Lindsey oil refinery in Lincolnshire saying they had until Monday to reapply for their jobs. (Good on them!). There are loads of people out of work and they would give their right arm to be in those positions.</p>

<p>Mining and steel company Severstal is laying off more than <span style="color: #ff0000;">900</span> workers in Ohio as it idles operations in Steubenville, Martin&#8217;s Ferry and Yorkville. The layoffs have already started and will continue until June 10th when all of the facilities will be shut down, according to a notice filed with the state of Ohio.</p>
